To ensure that Brandywine Hospital is continuing to meet the needs of this community, we are always evaluating the care provided by the hospital and staff. We use quality standards established by state and national organizations, such as the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania and The Joint Commission. Our internal standards are set and implemented by administration, the medical staff and our employees. Brandywine Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, a highly regarded national organization, and is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Visiting Hours
Medical/Surgical Units - Family members and friends are welcome to visit patients on our Medical/Surgical Units from noon to 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
Intensive Care Unit - Intensive Care Unit - Our ICU is open for visitors from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Special visiting arrangements will be considered on an individual basis, please speak with the RN.
Please use the intercom system outside of the unit to notify us of your arrival. Each patient may only have two visitors at a time. No visitors under the age of 14 are permitted in the unit.
Cafeteria Services
We operate a full-service cafeteria that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner meals during the week and lunch and dinner during the weekend. Visitors can enjoy their meal in our comfortable dining room or request takeout packaging in order to dine with a patient. Vending machines offer microwaveable meals, snacks and beverages 24 hours a day.
Patient Advocate Services
If you have questions or needs that are not being addressed by your care team, you may contact the hospital's patient advocate at 610-383-8438. The role of the patient advocate is to ensure that the hospital is continuing to meet your needs and to intervene on your behalf in any situation.
Patient Surveys
Another way to make your views known is to complete a patient satisfaction survey, which you may receive in the mail after you return home. We review these responses carefully and consider changes in hospital procedures and services based on your feedback.

Long distance well-wishers and patients unable to leave their rooms are invited to use our delivery service. By calling the gift shop, you can arrange to have a purchase delivered directly to a patient’s room – with no delivery charge. A friendly gift shop employee will take your order over the phone and a hospital volunteer or gift shop employee will deliver your purchase. Orders are welcome seven days a week and no minimum purchase is necessary. The gift shop accepts Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express
Custom Gift Baskets Made to Order
The gift shop is pleased to prepare a gift basket designed to your specifications. Choose the merchandise you want, provide an overall theme or specify an amount you wish to spend – the gift shop will take it from there!
