Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Services
Brandywine Hospital is the only hospital in Chester County to offer adult inpatient behavioral health services for a broad range of emotional and psychiatric conditions within a safe and supportive environment. We believe individuals with behavioral health problems are best served in their own community, close to families, friends, and other familiar support systems.
Brandywine’s behavioral health team—including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, mental health counselors and activity therapists— is uniquely qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of behavioral health conditions including:
- Alcohol abuse
- Anxiety
- Bi-polar disorder
- Depression
- Drug addiction
- Dual diagnosis
- Impulsive behaviors
- Mood or thought disturbances
- Panic
- Suicidal thoughts
Working together, the team pool their expertise to tailor treatments that help patients effectively manage their behavioral illness and return to a normal level of functioning, without depending on structured inpatient care.
Key components of our program include a multidisciplinary assessment (e.g. psychiatric consultation, neurological examination, individualized treatment and discharge planning; assistance with reintegration into community, job and family life; and family support.
Our 32-bed unit is accredited by the Joint Commission and provides care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 3 pm.
